My name is Janna Bostwick, and I am truly proud of my growth as a nurse. Throughout my career, I have worked hard to “make a bad day better,” no matter the circumstances. I have grown into a strong and reliable leader, and I take great pride in my ability to obtain blood even from the “toughest stick.” When situations become critical, I remain calm, cool, and collected. My peers count on me to lead, to think clearly, and to make safe, appropriate decisions.
I have been offered a manager position at every facility I have worked in, and I am honored to know that I am welcome back at any of those facilities with just a phone call. These experiences have made me feel that I am being guided toward a role such as a nurse navigator. I often find myself wondering how people who lack support—or who don’t have medical knowledge—manage to navigate a system that too often treats individuals as procedures instead of people.
From my very first day of nursing school, my goal has always been to ensure my patients feel heard, cared for, and above all, respected. I want my patients to have a voice in their care, and it is a privilege to advocate for them as they navigate their health.
When my time as a nurse eventually comes to a close, I hope my patients will be able to say, “Janna was such a help on the worst day.”

I graduated from the Pueblo Community College ADN program where we focused on foundational knowledge and skills in nursing practice. The curriculum included coursework in anatomy, pharmacology, and nursing theory, alongside hands-on clinical experience in various healthcare settings.

University of Colorado - Colorado Springs
RN to BSN
I am in my final class for my BSN. While in this program, I have received advanced knowledge and skills in patient care, leadership, and healthcare management. Continuing courses in nursing theory, research, community health, and critical care, along with hands-on experience.
